Interactive web apps in no-code

rapid | low-cost | flexible | scaleable

So, what's no-code?

In the past, if you wanted an interactive application for customers, you would employ technical people to create the app in code. We're talking about a full-on, get down 'data-driven' application here, like AirBnB or Uber, as opposed to a simple website like the one you are viewing now (which is created in Carrd). Now, after a while and when the application is ready, very simply put, the technical guys would load the code onto a server, and connect it to another server which holds a database. If you wanted to make changes, you would need to ask the coders, since they understand the technology and infrastructure. They will always be between you and your app.

This sort of process is out of scope for many businesses because of the cost and the time it takes. Learning a technology like WordPress and doing it yourself is usually not an option. That is, until no-code came along. No-code is the next generation of software development, and it is aimed specifically at non-coders. It's ideal for start-ups and SMEs, pilots and MVPs (minimum viable product). In this emerging space, Bubble.io is the market leader.

This means business owners have access to tools that enable them to create their own beautiful and complex apps. So, for instance, instead of writing lines of code to 'log a user in', they drag an option across. With a WYSIWYG interface and everything managed in a single environment, the possibilities are mind-blowing.While a number of entrepreneurs take the 'boot camps' and go it alone, others enlist the support of a specialist developer. After all, we're engineering something here, so discipline and best practice are important. More than that, experience smooths the path and speeds things up even more. It's usually preferred by business folk to concentrate on the business and their customers rather than become completely proficient in a technology. It's also good for peace of mind, and for the purpose of articulating changes, to have a visual language that both the specialist and business share.Web apps can take between ten days and three months to create, depending on their complexity.

Why choose Torpedojuice

I am one of a limited number of certified Bubble developers, plus I have six years' experience with the platform. Bubble is a full-stack, fully-hosted, no-code applications development environment, and I have developed a number of applications using it.I have also, in a previous life, developed a good number of business apps in other tools, plus I have credentials in project management, business and systems analysis, and education. I'll bring this exposure to best practice to your project, along with my experience mentoring companies in marketing.I bring more to the party than just the ability to build an app. To use an analogy from the construction industry, I'm more than just a builder. I'm also an architect, structural engineer and estate agent.

Bubble Developer Certificate for David Chapple

I'm David Chapple and my journey with Bubble started when I wanted to create my own app. I'd had a business developing business apps before, and then I moved to Microsoft, followed by freelance consulting. When the time came to initiate my project, technology had of course moved on, and technically, there was no choice other than developing a solution in code. So I handed the build over to third parties. However, after a few iterations, it became clear that traditional coding lacked the agility that the app needed to adapt to the world. To misquote, "a specification never survives first contact with the user". It was also very expensive. Then no-code made an appearance and I discovered Bubble.io.Out of the few platforms available, Bubble seemed to offer the perfect solution. It was very reasonably priced, and it had a drag-and-drop, WYSIWYG editor. I was able to create my app with all of its screens, navigation, business logic, security, data and API connections without writing a line of code or leaving the editor. And I could make changes in response to feedback.Since then, I have worked on a series of projects as a freelance developer, working with agencies, UX/UI designers and business owners to produce solutions in record time.
